Our Initiatives

Project Catalyst

Project Catalyst is a Young Scientists initiative with the goal of introducing high school students to the field of Science, Technology, and Society through direct communication between our organization and school districts across the country.

Through workshops, classroom modules, and hands-on discussions, the project helps students look beyond the lab and the textbook to ask deeper questions, such as who benefits from new technologies? How do scientific discoveries influence social change? What responsibilities do scientists and innovators have toward society and the environment?

Project Catalyst is our connection to the American public education system to develop accessible, inquiry-based materials that bring STS ideas directly into classrooms. Our goal is to build a generation of curious, reflective, and socially conscious scientists and citizens who understand that progress in science and technology must go hand-in-hand with understanding their human impact.
